Growing

Audrey is about 13 months old and she is a sweet delight! This little girl is like a sponge-- learning each moment something new. She has a fetish with shoes-- she tries putting on everyone's shoes as well as her own. She absolutely loves shoes! One morning we asked the kids to put their shoes on to go to school. Audrey walked over to grab her shoes and sat down to put them on! Such a cutie :)

The doctor told us that the first year is about learning to move and walk and the second year is learning to talk. She was right! Audrey;s vocabulary is exploding! She consistently says... Baby, Shoe, Eyes, Night Night, Dada, Cheese, Hi, No, Mama, and Uh oh :)

Yesterday I put Audrey down for a nap in her crib and for a while I heard her playing around. I cracked open the door and she looked at me smiling and snuggled her head down onto her blanket and said, "night night."

Later I was reflecting on how amazing it has been to watch her develop. All of the things she is learning are directly because of the life we are providing for her in our home. It is such a good feeling to have the opportunity to mold and shape a little life and have such powerful influence on her. Everything she knows, she has learned from me and the rest of our family. It is such a joy to raise a child! I thank God that He has entrusted us with her little life. Even though I know we will make mistakes, I pray He uses our parenting for her good and to teach her of His ways.
