My friend, Ellen, came to visit us this weekend. We were roommates in Freiburg, Germany a few years ago. It was really fun to see her! These are the only pictures I have of the weekend, but we also went hiking at the Nature Center, went to church together, enjoyed $1.50 kids meals at Qdoba and baked daddy a carrot cake for his birthday. Unfortunately, the cake went in the oven without baking soda-- leaving us a very dense carrot cake. With all the craziness of baking with three sets of little hands in the kitchen, I goofed and skipped over the baking soda in the recipe. Oh well, daddy knows it is the thought that counts. For his birthday, we dropped Ellen off at the Branson airport and then our family went hiking. Happy Birthday, my love!
