New Tradition

We have decided to start a yearly Christmas tree decorating tradition-- We spend an evening listening to Christmas music, eating Fondue for dinner and decorating the tree. It was a lot of fun!
(We used a crock pot and sauce pan to make the fondue-- not the best results. We are hoping to one day get an electric fondue pot.)

Ethan and I enjoyed Wisconsin Trio Fondue (here's a recipe) at the Melting Pot in Kansas City a few weeks ago. If you arrive before 7pm daily and sit in the lounge, you can get $5 cheese and $5 chocolate fondue. That's a good deal for the Melting Pot!
It's so much fun and inspired our new Christmas tradition. For this year, we used a Cheddar Cheese Recipe  at home (although I only had Colby Jack cheese on hand and used chicken broth instead of beer) and it was really delicious.

Favorite Fondue dippers: broccoli (slightly steamed), baby carrots, bread cubes, and apple cubes.
